Waternet and Local Tax
Since 2007, the Amsterdam water provider, Waternet, charges its tax separately from Local Tax. Waternet charges tax for the maintenance of drinking water, waste water, surface water and maintenance of the levees
How to avoid payment?
Fill out the Remission form!
Amsterdam tenants:
With the bill for water taxes you will find a card together with the bill
a) With this card, you can ask for a remission form OR (if you've lost the card, for instance)
b) You can phone the Amsterdam Tax department, telephone number 14020 and ask them for a remission form
c) Information about Waternet
Dial 020 346 3636 for an address/phone number of a 'Formulierenbrigade' location near you. You can make an appointment or go there on Monday - Thursday from 9-11 a.m. or call or pay a visit to the Social Advisers for more help. This is also a free service.

The same as in a) but then
c) you can phone the company Waternet itself, nr. 0900-8998611 and ask for a remission form or go to the public office of Waternet, Korte Oudekerkerdijk 7, Amsterdam (close to the Amstelstation) in order to get help filling out the form. This is a free service.
