Insurance

Does your insurance company cover health and liability insurance during your stay in Amsterdam?

Please check before you come to the Netherlands.

Are you 30+ and planning to stay for one year or more in the Netherlands?
You are obliged under Dutch law to take a basic healthcare insurance.

Staying for one or two semesters (less than a year)?
Regular healthcare agreements for international students apply to you. However, it must be clear in advance that your total stay and study is less than a year.

If not, you must choose a basic healthcare insurance at the start of your studies in order not to be fined.

Check www.uva/insurance.nl and www.nuffic.nl/international-students

Two insurance companies that many students use are:
www.myaon.nl/students and www.ace-ips-nl.com

Attention please

Don't want to scare you but.....
Every year, one or two of our new tenants get robbed before having set foot in Amsterdam. Most of these incidents happen during the train ride from Schiphol to Amsterdam.

Watch your belongings while you travel!

Furthermore, student buildings are popular hang out spots for thieves. Students have laptops, cameras and other gadgets that are valuable and easy to sell.
Please insure your valuables before coming to Amsterdam!

Please note that De Key/SSF is not liable for items that get stolen from or in any other way get lost in our property.
